YORK, Pa. -- Christopher Newport junior Tim Daly was honored as the CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 8, 2016.

Christopher Newport junior Tim Daly earned CAC Player of the Week honors for the second time this year after leading the sixth-ranked Captains to three road victories last week. Daly averaged 20.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.7 blocks per game on 54.1% shooting. His two free throws with one second remaining at Salisbury forced overtime and allowed CNU to go on to win and clinch the regular-season conference title. Daly's 20-point, 10-rebound performance at Frostburg State was his fourth double-double of the season.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE
In the D3hoops.com Week 8 National Rankings, Christopher Newport jumped three spots to No. 6 ... CNU remains the lone unbeaten team in conference play at 14-0 and has wrapped up the No. 1 seed and home court advantage in the CAC postseason ... All 10 CAC teams remain in the playoff picture with four conference games remaining ... Just three games separate third place from 10th place in the standings ... Tyler Michael averaged 21.3 points and 6.0 rebounds over three games last week for Frostburg State ... Freshman Mark Madison continued to excel for Mary Washington last week, averaging 14 PPG and reaching double figures in three straight games. The freshman shot 46.9% from the field, including a blistering 57.1% from three point range (8-for-14). Junior TJ Jones and sophomore Eric Shaw both netted double figures for UMW this week as well ... Marymount's Rick Narcisse helped the Saints to wins over St. Mary's and York to remain a contender for the postseason. For the week, he averaged 18 points behind 58.8% shooting, 3.7 steals and 6.7 rebounds. In a senior day win against York on Saturday, Narcisse tallied a game-high 21 points and nine rebounds, along with a career- and game-high six steals. Narcisse has now gone 13-straight games scoring at least 11 points a game ... Tanner Brooks notched the team's last seven points of the game to lead St. Mary's to its only win of the week at Frostburg State. Brooks finished the Frostburg State win with a game-high 26 points as he shot nearly 62% from the floor. He averaged 19.7 points in three games to pace the Seahawks ... Salisbury's Gordon Jeter averaged 17.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per contest in a 2-1 week. In the Sea Gulls' OT loss to CNU, Jeter put up a career-high 25 points, including hitting 2-of-3 from outside. He followed that performance with his third double-double of the year, scoring 20 points (for the fifth time in his career and his first back-to-back 20-point games) to go with 12 rebounds ... Anders Jacobson leads Southern Virginia in PPG (14.3) and is second in RPG (6.1) this season ... Wesley went 1-2 this week to fall a game back of a CAC playoff position. The Wolverines fell to Southern Virginia on the road Monday, but rebounded with a home win against York on Wednesday. On Saturday, the Wolverines held a 13-point second half lead against CNU, but the Captains squeaked out a 78-74 victory. The Wolverines take to the road this week, traveling to Salisbury on Wednesday night before taking on Frostburg State on Saturday afternoon.
