York Junior Dalton Myers Earns CAC Men's Basketball Weekly Honors

YORK, Pa. -- York junior Dalton Myers was honored as the CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 23, 2015.

York junior Dalton Myers was honored as the CAC Player of the Week after leading the Spartans to a 3-0 week that included the championship of the 16th Annual Coaches vs. Cancer Classic in York. He opened the week with 15 points, seven rebounds and two assists in a 66-47 home win over Gettysburg. Myers began the CVC tournament with 22 points, four boards and a career-high five blocks in a 72-61 win over Wilson, before posting 12 points and seven rebounds in a 58-52 triumph over McDaniel in the championship game. Myers averaged 16.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game last week, shooting 58.1% from the floor and 85.7% from the free throw line while also earning Tournament MVP honors.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

In the D3hoops.com Preseason National Rankings, Salisbury (7) and Christopher Newport (4) each received votes ... Penn State Harrisburg, Salisbury and York all have 4-0 records through the first two weeks of the season, while Christopher Newport is also unbeaten at 2-0 ... Marcus Carter led Christopher Newport to a 70-52 victory over Washington & Lee in its only game of the week. Carter posted 20 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals while shooting 8-for-11 from the field ... Frostburg State's Nick Smoot earned all-tournament honors at the FSU Tournament after averaging 23.0 points per game throughout the tournament. He finished the week with 68 points in three games ... Junior T.J. Jones led Mary Washington with a 45.5 shooting performance from the field this week, averaging 15.3 PPG for the Eagles. He scored 16 points in a road loss at Lynchburg, added 18 points in a win over Shenandoah, and added a team-high 12 despite foul trouble against Hampden-Sydney ... Marymount's Jesse Longmire notched a career-high 23 points against Medgar Evers in the opening round of the Pablo Coto Tip-Off Tournament. For the tournament, he dropped in six three-pointers on 60-percent shooting from behind the arc, while going 9-for-15 from the field. His efforts earned him a spot on the all-tournament team ... Penn State Harrisburg's Jazmon Harris led the Lions to a 2-0 week with averages of 18.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in wins over Haverford and Albright ... St. Mary's Tanner Brooks was named to the Guilford Classic All-Tournament Team after averaging 20.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists. Brooks tallied 24 points in St. Mary's convincing win over Greensboro to snap a two-game skid ... Salisbury's Gordon Jeter averaged 12.5 points per game and added 6.5 rebounds per game in two wins for Salisbury last week. The Sea Gulls made a school-record 19 three-pointers in an 89-79 victory against DeSales ... Wesley fell in close games against Gwynedd-Mercy and Neumann. The squad led both contests at the halftime break, but fell to Gwynedd-Mercy 93-81 and took a tough two-point loss to Neumann, 73-71. Wayne Lennon averaged 12.0 points and 12.5 rebounds per game to earn All-Tournament Team honors as the Wolverines moved to 1-2 on the season.
