Christopher Newport junior Tim Daly was named CAC Player of the Week after posting a pair of double-doubles in two victories last week. Daly, who comes off the bench, averaged 14.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 2.0 steals per game as the 13th-ranked Captains earned wins at Mary Washington and at home over York. CNU improved to 14-1 overall and 8-0 in the CAC with the victories.

In the D3hoops.com Week 5 National Rankings, Christopher Newport is ranked 13th while Salisbury received 2 votes ... CNU is the lone unbeaten team in conference play at 8-0 in the CAC and holds a three-game lead at the top of the standings ... Just three games separate second place from last place in the conference standings ... Frostburg State senior Shawn Henson averaged 18.5 PPG and 6.0 RPG last week in losses to Southern Virginia and Wesley. Sophomore Tyler Michael also contributed 18.5 PPG for the Bobcats ... Junior guard T.J. Jones averaged 21 PPG as Mary Washington dropped a pair of CAC games against Christopher Newport and Marymount. He netted 22 points against CNU, then added 20 in a road loss to Marymount.  He leads the league with 17.7 PPG ... Marymount's Danny Ferry guided the Saints to a 1-1 week, including a crucial league victory over Mary Washington on Saturday. Ferry posted back-to-back 20-point performances, averaging 22 points for the week. Dimitri Rucker sank the game-winning bucket for the Saints with 19 seconds left against UMW ... Salisbury's Gordon Jeter averaged 12.0 PPG and 9.5 RPG in wins over Wesley and Southern Virginia last week ... Southern Virginia's Anders Jacobson scored a career-high 27 points in a win over Frostburg State ... Wesley split its games last week, falling to Salisbury and defeating Frostburg State. JW Lawson averaged 17.0 PPG for the Wolverines ... York snapped a five-game losing streak with its win at St. Mary's. It was York's first win at St. Mary's since the 2010 CAC Semifinals when York upset the Seahawks en route to the Spartans' CAC championship.
