YORK, Pa. -- St. Mary's sophomore Delaszo Smith claimed CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for Jan. 4, 2016.

St. Mary's sophomore Delaszo Smith was named the CAC Player of the Week after leading the Seahawks to a pair of CAC wins with averages of 17.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 3.0 steals and 2.5 three-pointers per contest. Smith opened the week with 12 points, a career-high four steals and three assists in a win over Marymount, before totaling career-bests of 23 points, five assists, and five triples in a victory at Salisbury. Against the Sea Gulls, Smith shot 5-of-6 from downtown and 6-of-7 from the charity stripe.

CAC action resumed last week with six contests across the conference, including five on Saturday ... In the D3hoops.com Week 3 National Rankings, Christopher Newport is ranked 11th while Salisbury received 56 votes ... CNU is the lone unbeaten team in conference play at 4-0 in the CAC ... CNU went 2-1 over the holidays, led by sophomore Marcus Carter. Carter posted his second straight double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds in CNU's win over Shenandoah, and also led the way with 21 points as the Captains improved to 4-0 in the CAC with a victory over Southern Virginia ... Frostburg State senior James Peters averaged 18.7 points in a 2-1 week for the Bobcats, earning all-tournament honors at the Washington and Lee Holiday Tournament. Peters buried 12 three-pointers and shot 47 percent from the field in the three contests ... Mary Washington junior T.J. Jones surpassed the 20-point plateau for the fourth time this season with 21 points in the Eagles' only contest over break, a 76-72 loss at Frostburg State ... Marymount senior Rick Narcisse pieced together a career week for the Saints, going back-to-back games with new career highs in points while setting a new bar for rebounds as well. Narcisse averaged 18.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week ... Penn State Harrisburg defeated York 76-72 on Saturday behind a season-high 26 points and six three-pointers from junior Jazmon Harris ... Gordon Jeter scored 15 points in Salisbury's 17-point win against Wooster, and added a season-high 21 points in Salisbury's CAC loss to St. Mary's ... Wesley senior Anthony Bowers averaged 19.0 in a three games over the holiday break, including a season-high 31 points in a win over Bethany (W.V.) on Dec. 28 ... York sophomore Blayde Reich earned All-Tournament team honors at the Louis Fleming Bassinger Classic hosted by Lycoming last week as he set a new career-high with 16 points in the one point loss to Washington College.
