YORK, Pa. -- Marymount junior Dimitri Rucker was tabbed as CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 20, 2017.

Marymount junior Dimitri Rucker was tabbed as the CAC Player of the Week after averaging a double-double for the Saints and guiding them to two crucial victories to seal up a spot in the CAC playoffs. Rucker averaged 13.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.0 steals per contest in wins over Mary Washington and Penn State Harrisburg, helping the Saints clinch the No. 4 seed and a first-round home game in the CAC postseason. Against UMW, Rucker tallied a team-high 14 points along with nine boards and a game-high four blocks. He followed that up with a double-double on 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds against Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

In the D3hoops.com week 11 rankings, Christopher Newport is ranked No. 3 and Salisbury is ranked No. 11 ... The six-team CAC Tournament will begin with Tuesday's first round. Third-seeded York will host sixth-seeded Wesley at 8 p.m., while fourth-seeded Marymount will host fifth-seeded St. Mary's at 8 p.m ... The two first-round winners advance to Thursday's semifinals ... Top-seeded Christopher Newport and second-seeded Salisbury received first-round byes and will host Thursday's semifinals ... Christopher Newport senior Tim Daly led the Captains to two road victories to conclude the regular season. He posted his fourth double-double of the season with 21 points and 11 rebounds at York to complete a 17-1 conference mark and top seed for CNU in the upcoming CAC Tournament. The third-ranked Captains have won 17 straight games entering post-season play ... Frostburg State's Edwin Cole capped his sophomore campaign with five double-doubles in the Bobcats' last six games, including two last week. Against York, he poured in 19 points and 13 rebounds and followed that effort up with an 18-point, 13-rebound performance in Frostburg State's 86-80 overtime upset of No. 11 Salisbury ... Mary Washington junior Eric Shaw closed the season for the Eagles by netting 23.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in a pair of contests last week. He scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a loss at Marymount before scoring 28 on 10-of-16 shooting in a win at Wesley ... Penn State Harrisburg's Kahlil Williams averaged 14.5 points per game last week for the Lions ... Tre Mouton averaged 22.5 points in a 1-1 week for St. Mary's. Mouton dropped a season-best 23 points in the come-from-behind win over No. 11 Salisbury as he went a perfect 11-of-11 from the field. He followed that up with a game-best 22 points at Southern Virginia while adding three rebounds and a season-best three steals ... Salisbury's Chad Barcikowski scored 19.5 points per game last week. He scored 22 points against St. Mary's and 17 against Frostburg State, and also grabbed 5.5 rebonds per contest ... Southern Virginia's Tyler McCreadie scored a career-high 17 points in win against St. Mary's, pulling down six boards as well ... Wesley's Paul Clemons notched a career-best 26 points in the 77-58 win against Penn State Harrisburg before tallying his fourth double-double of the season in the loss to Mary Washington. Clemons totaled 38 points and 19 rebounds on the week. In the CAC, Clemons ranks fourth in rebounds per game, averaging 7.9 boards per contest.
