YORK, Pa. -- Salisbury senior Wyatt Smith was selected as CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season on Feb. 13, 2017.

Salisbury senior Wyatt Smith was selected as the CAC Player of the Week for the third time this season after averaging a double-double in a 2-0 week for the Sea Gulls. In victories over Penn State Harrisburg and Southern Virginia, Smith averaged 18.0 points and 10.0 rebounds while adding 2.0 blocks and 1.5 assists per game. He also shot a stellar 90.9% (10-for-11) from the free throw line, helping the Sea Gulls clinch a top-two seed and first-round bye in the CAC postseason.

In the D3hoops.com week 10 rankings, Christopher Newport is ranked No. 3 and Salisbury is ranked No. 12 ... With two games remaining the regular season, CNU (21-2, 15-1) has now won 15 straight games and will host a semifinal game on Thursday, Feb. 23, while Salisbury (19-4, 14-2) has won five straight and will also host a semifinal. As the No. 3 seed, York (15-8, 11-5) will host a first-round contest on Tuesday, Feb. 21 ... Seeds four through six remain up for grabs, with St. Mary's (12-11, 7-9), Marymount (10-13, 7-9), and Wesley (9-14, 7-9) in a three-way tie for fourth followed by Mary Washington (11-12, 6-10) and Penn State Harrisburg (9-14, 6-10) one game back in a tie for seventh ... He made all seven of his three point attempts, breaking a school record for a game for most makes without a miss, as the Eagles fell to St. Mary's on Wednesday. He added 10 points as the Eagles topped Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday, 91-56 ... Marymount sophomore Brandon Rogers led the offense for the two-game week, averaging 10 points per contest behind 58.3% shooting, including 60% from beyond the arc ... Southern Virginia freshman Rashay Douglas led the Knights in scoring both games this week, recording this third 20-point game of the season. Douglas leads the team in PPG (13.5) and FG% (42.5). He scored 18 of his 25 in the second half on Saturday against Salisbury ... Wesley's JW Lawson ranks fourth in the CAC in scoring, averaging 15.5 points per game ... York clinched the No. 3 seed in the upcoming CAC playoffs. Blayde Reich led the way for the Spartans, averaging 17.5 points and 7.0 boards per game in wins over Wesley and Marymount. For the season, Reich is averaging 13.0 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. He is shooting 47.5% from the floor and 73.8% from the charity stripe.
