Christopher Newport senior Tim Daly was named the CAC Player of the Week after nearly averaging a double-double in a 2-0 week for the third-ranked Captains. In victories over Mary Washington and St. Mary's, Daly averaged 18.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game while shooting 72.7% (16-of-22) from the field. Against St. Mary's, he set a new career high with 28 points to go along with 12 rebounds for his third double-double of the season. He added 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals per contest for the week. CNU has now won 13 straight games.

With two weeks and four games left in the conference regular season, CNU (19-2, 13-1) and Salisbury (17-4, 12-2) are in firm control of the top two spots in the standings. York is in third place at 13-8, 8-6, Marymount (10-11, 7-7) and Wesley (9-12, 7-7) are tied for fourth, and Mary Washington (10-11, 6-8) and Penn State Harrisburg (9-12, 6-8) are tied for sixth. St. Mary's (10-11, 5-9) and Frostburg State (5-16, 4-10) are currently on the outside looking in but within striking distance ... Frostburg State sophomore Edwin Cole posted a pair of double-doubles in a 1-1 week for the Bobcats, pouring in 21 points and 13 rebounds against Penn State Harrisburg and then contributing 14 points and 11 boards in the Bobcats' OT win over Mary Washington ... Penn State Harrisburg senior Jazmon Harris averaged 20.5 points and 3.5 steals per game in a 1-1 week, leading the Lions to a comeback win over Frostburg State on Wednesday ... St. Mary's freshman Matt Ayoub extended his streak of consecutive double-digit scoring games to 13 this past week as Ayoub led the team in scoring with 15.0 points per game ... Salisbury senior Justin Witmer scored his 1,000th career point during the Sea Gulls' win against York, becoming the 32nd 1,000-point scorer in program history ... Southern Virginia's Michael Price scored a career-high 25 points to spur Knights in win over Penn State Harrisburg. Price shot 75% from three-point range and went 13-of-14 at the free throw line ... York junior Matt Scamuffo averaged 24 points per game in a 1-1 week for the Spartans, including a career-high 35 points in Saturday's loss to No. 14 Salisbury. Scamuffo tied a school record by draining nine three-pointers in the game, tying a school record and ranking tied for third all-time in CAC contests.
