St. Mary's junior LaVonte Sanders was tabbed as the CAC Player of the Week after averaging 17.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game in a 2-0 CAC week for the Seahawks. Sanders began the week with season-bests of 19 points and three blocks while also grabbing five rebounds in an 86-78 home win over Wesley. He followed up that performance with 15 points and a game-high nine boards in a 85-63 home triumph against Marymount. Sanders shot 52.4% (11-for-21) from the field for the week and notched 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per contest.

In the D3hoops.com week 7 rankings, Christopher Newport is ranked No. 3 and Salisbury is ranked No. 12 ... Third-ranked Christopher Newport won two home games this week, taking sole possession of first place in the CAC standings and stretching its home winning streak to 22. CNU downed Salisbury, 55-53, behind Tim Daly's double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds. CNU also surged to a 75-47 victory over Penn St.-Harrisburg. The Captains have won 11 straight games since returning from holiday break ... Frostburg State junior Tyler Michael registered a double-double against Wesley with 19 points and 12 rebounds ... Mary Washington senior John Lutkenhaus turned in an outstanding week for the Eagles, scoring a team-high 20 points in an 87-64 win over Southern Virginia, and adding a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds in a loss at No. 12 Salisbury. He made 7-of-9 shots from the floor, including 6-of-8 three-point tries, in Wednesday's effort, and hauled in six rebounds. On Saturday, he made 4-of-9 shots, including a pair of three-pointers. For the week, he shot 61.1% from the field, and a 57.1% mark from distance ... Marymount junior Dimitri Rucker posted a pair of 14-point games this past week, as Marymount went 1-1 in league play. Rucker is fourth in the CAC in field goal % at 50.3%. On top of his 14 points per game, he also averaged seven rebounds, two blocks and a steal per game last week ... Salisbury senior Gordon Jeter notched the 1,000th point of his career in a 67-63 victory against Mary Washington. Wyatt Smith led the Sea Gulls with team-highs of 23 points and 10 boards in the victory over the Eagles ... Southern Virginia freshman Tyler McCreadie led the Knights this week with a double-digit performance in both games, averaging 12.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest ... York freshman Jared Wagner averaged 11 points, 6.5 points, 4.0 steals, and 2.5 assists in the Spartans' two games for the week. The Spartans earned their first win at Southern Virginia with a three-point triumph on Saturday as they overcame a 16-point deficit.
