Mary Washington Sophomore Kait Brogan Named CAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for Second Time
YORK, Pa. -- Mary Washington sophomore Kait Brogan secured CAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week accolades for March 22, 2016.

Mary Washington sophomore Kait Brogan was named the CAC Player of the Week for the second time this season after defeating a trio of nationally-ranked opponents in a 3-0 week for the Eagles that included wins over No. 17 Skidmore and No. 21 Case Western. In singles, Brogan played at the No. 1 spot and defeated the 15th-ranked player in the nation from Case Western Reserve in three sets, 6-2, 6-7, 7-6. She also registered straight-set wins over a regionally-ranked player from Skidmore and against Bates. At No. 1 doubles, Brogan and Shelby Harris went 3-0 on the week with wins over the No. 7 and No. 18 teams in the nation.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE
CAC play ramped up last week with four matchups across the conference ... All eight CAC teams have played at least one conference match in 2016 ... Christopher Newport's Katie Carlson helped the Captains to shutout CAC victories over St. Mary's, Southern Virginia and Frostburg State last week. Carlson went 3-0 at No. 1 doubles with McKinney Harwood and claimed a pair of wins at No. 1 singles ... Mary Washington's win over Skidmore on Friday was the 200th for head coach Patrick Catullo at UMW ... St. Mary's went 2-2 on its spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C., before falling to CNU 6-0 on Sunday ... Salisbury went 2-1 last week as it wrapped up its annual spring break trip. Natalie Savage went 2-1 in both singles and doubles for the Sea Gulls, with her only losses coming against nationally-ranked opponents.
