York Freshman Rachel Wagner Claims CAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week
YORK, Pa. -- York freshman Rachel Wagner was selected as the CAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for Sept. 23, 2015.

York freshman Rachel Wagner was selected as the CAC Player of the Week after making an immediate impact at the collegiate level with a 6-0 combined singles and doubles mark in her first three career matches. Playing at No. 2 singles, Wagner won her first two matches without dropping a game, 6-0, 6-0. She captured her third victory over the week against Messiah, 6-2, 6-2. Wagner also combined with Carter Vaughn for a trio of No. 2 doubles wins, dropping only four total games in the three matches. The Spartans are 3-0 on the year with victories over Goucher, Hood and Messiah.

Six CAC squads have kicked off their fall 2015 seasons ... Christopher Newport's Kate Huck went 2-1 in singles and 2-2 in doubles over the first two weekends of play, with all four wins coming against Division I opponents ... Sophomore Hannah Jabusch led Mary Washington at the UMW Kickoff Classic against Washington & Lee and George Mason, winning all three of her singles matches. She defeated Emily Kochard of W&L, 6-2, 6-2, after topping Rachel Hicks of W&L, 6-2, 6-1, and Melinda Kaufman of W&L, 3-6, 6-0, 10-1. She also won two of three doubles matches for the weekend ... Emily Rost registered a strong start to her senior campaign, posting a 4-0 record in a 1-1 week for St. Mary's. First-year head coach Tyler Robinson notched his first career coaching win with an 8-1 victory over Hood.
