Salisbury Junior Logan O'Meara and Christopher Newport Sophomore Haley Casanova Secure CAC Women's Soccer Weekly Honors
YORK, Pa. -- Salisbury junior Logan O'Meara and Christopher Newport sophomore Haley Casanova were named the CAC Women's Soccer Players of the Week for Oct. 27, 2014.

Salisbury junior Logan O'Meara was named the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after helping the Sea Gulls lock up a first-round bye in the CAC playoffs with a pair of one-goal victories last week. O'Meara assisted on the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over Wesley last Wednesday, and continued her strong offensive play by scoring the first goal in a 2-1 triumph over York on Saturday.

Christopher Newport sophomore Haley Casanova was named the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after playing all 207:39 in goal for the Captains last week, allowing one goal with nine saves to help CNU secure a top-two finish in the CAC regular season. Casanova opened the week with four saves in a 1-0 win over Mary Washington to secure her third shutout of the season. She concluded the week with five saves a in 1-1 draw with Frostburg State. She boasts a 0.71 goals against average for the season, which ranks second among CAC netminders.

Christopher Newport (7-0-1) and Salisbury (7-1) have locked up the top two seeds and first-round byes in the upcoming CAC playoffs. The Captains and Sea Gulls will meet on Wednesday with the top seed and homefield advantage at stake ... St. Mary's (5-2-1), Frostburg State (4-2-2) and York (4-3-1) have also secured playoff berths ... Christopher Newport is ranked 6th in the South Atlantic Regional rankings ... With a win and a tie last week, Christopher Newport clinched a first-round bye in the CAC Tournament, running their unbeaten streak in conference games to eight. Victoria Perry added her 14th goal of the season, moving up to sixth on the single season list at CNU in goals and points (34) ... Mary Washington freshman Taylor Decker reached a career-high with four points as the Eagles topped Penn State Harrisburg 3-1 on Saturday to keep their CAC Tournament hopes alive. Decker assisted on the Eagles' first two second-half goals, and scored the third, as the Eagles overcame a 1-0 halftime deficit for the win ...
