Christopher Newport Sophomore Victoria Perry and Wesley Freshman Nasia Denegal Named CAC Women's Soccer Players of the Week
YORK, Pa. -- Christopher Newport sophomore Victoria Perry and Wesley freshman Nasia Denegal were named the CAC Women's Soccer Players of the Week for Oct. 20, 2014.

Christopher Newport sophomore Victoria Perry was named the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after factoring into six of the Captains' nine goals last week, including game-winning goals against both St. Mary's and Marymount. Perry posted two goals and an assist in both games, totaling four goals and two assists for the week. With the big week, she moved to the top of the CAC scoring leaders with 32 total points this season.

Wesley goalkeeper Nasia Denegal was honored as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after recording 27 saves and surrendering just one goal in a 1-0-1 week for the Wolverines. In a 1-0 shutout win over Penn State Harrisburg, Denegal stopped eight shots to earn her sixth shutout of the season. She followed that up with a 19-save performance in a 1-1 tie with Frostburg State. She made 11 saves in regulation and eight more in overtime to preserve the tie for the Wolverines.

St. Mary's Gillian Sawyer recorded her first hat trick in a 5-0 win at Penn State Harrisburg ... York head coach Vicki Sterner secured her 200th career victory in the Spartans' 1-0 road win at Frostburg State on Wednesday. York goalkeeper Melanie Glessner tied Amanda Lomberg's school record for career shutouts with her 25th in the win over Frostburg State.
