Christopher Newport Sophomore Meaghan Galvin and Salisbury Freshman Allie Hynson Claim CAC Women's Lacrosse Weekly Honors
YORK, Pa. -- Christopher Newport sophomore Meaghan Galvin and Salisbury freshman Allie Hynson were awarded as the CAC Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week for April 6, 2015.

Christopher Newport sophomore Meaghan Galvin was selected as the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Captains to a pair of victories with 11 goals and four assists. On Wednesday, she guided CNU to its first-ever victory over Mary Washington after contributing seven points, including five goals. Four of her scores came on free-position attempts, which equaled the single-game program record. Her five total goals on Wednesday also set a new career-high, which she promptly eclipsed three days later with six tallies against Lynchburg. Her eight points against the Hornets also marked a new personal best. Additionally, she led CNU with nine draw controls to go along with four ground balls.

Salisbury freshman Allie Hynson was honored as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after playing a key role in the backfield last week for a Sea Gulls defense that gave up only four goals in a pair of CAC victories. Hynson totaled six ground balls, seven draw controls and forced four turnovers for the week in wins over Wesley and Frostburg State.
