YORK, Pa. -- Salisbury junior Megan Wallenhorst and Christopher Newport junior Hanna Slough were selected as the CAC Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week for March 30, 2015.  

Offensive Player of the Week

Salisbury junior Megan Wallenhorst was named the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after tallying nine goals and two assists in a 2-0 week for the Sea Gulls that included a victory over No. 1 Franklin & Marshall. Against F&M, Wallenhorst recorded a game-high three goals and an assist, including the game-winning tally in the closing minutes. She followed up that performance with a career day against Mary Washington on Saturday, setting new career-bests in goals (6) and points (7). She has now gone three-consecutive games with at least three scores and four points. For the week, she shot 90 percent, only seeing one of her 10 shots get saved. Against F&M, she also had two draw controls, one ground ball and one caused turnover.

Defensive Player of the Week

Christopher Newport junior Hanna Slough was honored as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Captains to a CAC victory over Frostburg State with 12 saves. The 12-save performance equaled the third highest single-game total of her career. Of her 12 stops, six came on free-position attempts. Along with her work between the pipes, she also forced two turnovers and set a new career-high with five ground balls during the 14-8 victory over the Bobcats in the Captains' lone contest last week.

In the Nike/Lacrosse Magazine Rankings, Salisbury is No. 5, York is No. 17, and St. Mary's is No. 19 ... Guided by a four-goal outburst from Erin Callahan and a suffocating defensive effort, Christopher Newport head coach Carolyn Query collected her 100th career victory as CNU took down Frostburg State, 14-8, on Saturday ... Frostburg State's Malory Brunett posted six goals, 14 draw controls, five caused turnovers and seven ground balls in two games for the Bobcats ... Sophomore Kate Smucker led Mary Washington with four goals in two contests this week ... Marymount's Steph Keane had eight ground balls and five caused turnovers in a 1-1 week for the Saints ...
