Mary Washington senior Anna Corley earned CAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week honors after leading the Eagles to the team title at the Gettysburg Invitational with four first-place finishes, including an NCAA provisional cut. Corley finished first in the 400 IM with an NCAA "B" cut time of 4:34.32, spearheading a 1-2-3 UMW finish in the event. She also won the 200 IM at 2:07.60 and contributed to the winning 800 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay squads. Her 200 IM time ranks 19th nationally, while her 400 IM is 32nd.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Five CAC teams were in action last week, while Frostburg State was idle ... Marymount and St. Mary's competed at the Yellow Jacket Invitational, Mary Washington competed at the Gettysburg Invitational, and Salisbury and York swam in non-conference dual meets ... Frostburg State returns to the pool on January 14 when it hosts York (Pa.) at 1:00 pm. ... Marymount junior Morgan Alston grabbed a top finish in the 200 IM (2:09.26) this past weekend at the Yellow Jacket Invitational, helping guide the Saints to a fifth-place finish out of the 10 teams in attendance in the two-day event. Alston also tabbed a third-place finish in the 100-yard fly (58.19), and a second-place finish in the 200-yard breast (2:26.37). Alston's 200 IM and 100 butterfly times rank among the top 50 nationally ... St. Mary's ophomore Hailley Baughman took fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.11) and 10th in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:34.11) at the Yellow Jacket Invitational ... In a 185-77 loss to Widener, Salisbury senior Victoria Radcliffe won the 200-yard freestyle at 1:58.16 and also captured first place in the 200-yard breasstroke at 2:34.15 ... York sophomore Maddy Mann continued to power the Spartans as she earned a win and two seconds in a 147-115 loss on Saturday against Messiah. Mann earned a win in the 200 freestyle (1:58.57) and finished runner-up in the 50 freestyle (25.34) and 100 freestyle (55.15). Mann leads the Spartans with nine individual wins during the year. She holds the top time in the CAC in the 500 freestyle and ranks second in the conference in the 200 freestyle this season.
