Frostburg State Junior Macey Nitchie Earns Second Straight CAC Women's Swimming Weekly Honor

YORK, Pa. -- Frostburg State junior Macey Nitchie earned her second straight CAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week award on Nov. 22, 2016.

Frostburg State junior Macey Nitchie was named the CAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week for the second straight week after posting three of the top times in the CAC and setting four individual and two school relay records at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational. Individually, she broke Frostburg State records and ranked among the top times nationally in the 50 freestyle (24.29; 25th nationally), 100 freestyle (52.87; 15th nationally), 200 freestyle (1:54.17; 14th nationally), and 1650 freestyle (18:44.23; 53rd nationally). Her 50, 100, and 1650 times rank atop the CAC this season. She was also a part of record-breaking 400 medley relay (4:06.64) and 400 freestyle relay (3:43.98) squads.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Five CAC teams were in action last week, while Mary Washington was idle ... Frostburg State and York competed at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational, while Marymount, St. Mary's, and Salisbury competed in non-conference dual meets ... Marymount freshman Hayley Elizondo took first in the 50-yard free (25.86) and the 100-yard breast (1:10.19) to add 18 points to the scoreboard to pace the Saints in a close loss to Randolph-Macon. Elizondo was also a member of the 200-yard medley relay team which took first place with a time of 1:55.11 ... Elizabeth Valenti helped St. Mary's to its first win of the season with two first-place finishes in the 800 freestyle (9:00.76) and the 400 freestyle (4:28.51) for the win over Ferrum. Valenti started the week with three silver medals in the 200 individual medley (2:21.80), the 500 freestyle (5:35.71), and the 400 freestyle relay ... Salisbury rolled past Barton 201-42, led by a pair of individual wins from senior Victoria Radcliffe. Radcliffe touched first in the 200-meter freestyle (2:15.31) and 50-meter freestyle (29.18) for the Sea Gulls.
