Marymount senior Casey Thomas was selected as the CAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week after winning two individual races and anchoring a winning relay squad in helping the Saints to a CAC victory over Salisbury on Saturday. Thomas captured individual wins in the 100 freestyle (55.19) and 200 freestyle (2:02.79), while also swimming the final leg of the winning 400 medley relay team that finished in 4:14.28. Her 100 freestyle time ranks fifth in the CAC this year.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE
A trio of CAC dual meets took place last week, with Mary Washington defeating St. Mary's 131-74, York topping Frostburg State 65-30, and Marymount outlasting Salisbury 121-84 ... Macey Nitchie posted two wins (50 free and 100 free) for Frostburg in a tri-meet with York and Randolph-Macon ... Senior Alex Parrish led a balanced attack as Mary Washington defeated St. Mary's on Saturday. Parrish swam the second leg on the winning 200 medley relay team that finished with a time of 1:52.50 in the first race of the day, and then won the 200 breaststroke at 2:36.31 ... Cara Machlin paced St. Mary's in a 1-2 week, capturing a pair of gold medals in the 50 fly and 200 medley relay vs. Oneonta State in Florida, and adding two gold medals (500 free and 1000 free) against Mary Washington ... Salisbury's Nicki Schult collected three victories against Marymount, winning the 1000 freestyle (11:37.40), finishing almost 30 seconds ahead of second place, and also capturing gold in the 500 freestyle (5:36.82) and the 400 freestyle relay (3:59.41) ... York posted a 3-1 mark for the week, defeating Gallaudet 126-47 and Penn State Altoona 115-57.
