St. Mary's Sophomore Emily Huey and Christopher Newport Junior Danielle Pratt Named CAC Women's Soccer Players of the Week
YORK, Pa. -- St. Mary's sophomore Emily Huey and Christopher Newport junior Danielle Pratt were named the CAC Women's Soccer Players of the Week for Oct. 10, 2016.

St. Mary's sophomore Emily Huey was named the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after tallying three goals in a 2-0 week as the Seahawks remained undefeated in conference play. Huey notched an insurance goal in the 77th minute of a 2-0 triumph over Salisbury on Wednesday, before scoring twice in a 4-1 victory over Marymount.

Christopher Newport junior Danielle Pratt received CAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this year after helping the CNU defense post a pair of shutouts against conference foes last week. Pratt, a center back for the Captains, helped the defensive unit limit Southern Virginia and Frostburg State to just six shots each in the shutout wins. She also contributed to the offense, adding a goal and an assist, including the game-winner vs. Frostburg State.

Christopher Newport is ranked No. 19 in the Oct. 4 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) rankings ... CNU and St. Mary's sit atop the CAC standings with 4-0 records, and will clash with first place on the line on Wednesday in St. Mary's City, Md. ... The CNU defense has allowed fewest number of goals through first 11 games in program history, and has posted the best record in program history in the same stretch (10-1-0). CNU is allowing just 6.5 shots per game and only 3.8 on-goal ... Junior Melanie Bell scored Frostburg State's only goal in a 1-0 win at Mary Washington. The Bobcats went 1-1 last week with a win over UMW and a 2-0 loss to CNU ...
