Salisbury freshman Brooke Mizelle was honored as the CAC Pitcher of the Week after posting a 4-0 mark with a 1.03 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 20.1 innings of work last week. Mizelle's top performance was a three-inning, no-hit relief victory against Lynchburg on Sunday. Entering in the seventh inning, Mizelle shut down the Hornets, allowing the Sea Gulls to score twice in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game to send it to extra innings. She held Lynchburg scoreless in the eighth and ninth frames, despite the Hornets starting each inning with a runner on second thanks to the international tie-breaker, helping Salisbury claim a 12-11 win in nine innings. In the second game of the doubleheader with Lynchburg, she surrendered just five hits in a complete-game victory, striking out six in the contest.
