YORK, Pa. -- Southern Virginia freshman Michael Myers was tabbed as the CAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for Sept. 23, 2014.

Southern Virginia freshman Michael Myers was named the CAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week after finishing third out of 70 runners at the Maroon Invitational held at Roanoke College in Salem, Va. Myers placed behind only the top Roanoke runner and a runner from the Virginia Tech club team. He paced the Knights to a third-place team finish, crossing the 8k finish line in 28:37.50.

Christopher Newport is ranked 2nd in the USTFCCCA South/Southeast Region Week 1 rankings, while Mary Washington is 10th and York is 10th in the Mideast Region ... Six CAC teams competed at the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational on Saturday ... Marymount sophomore Collin Chartier was the top CAC finisher in the 8K at Dickinson, claiming 38th place at 27:19.35 ... Junior Nick Eghtessad was Mary Washington's top finisher in the 8K at Dickinson, crossing the line in 41st place with a time of 27:23.35. Freshman Ben Sorenson was UMW's top male in the 6K, placing 33rd overall ... St. Mary's was paced by senior David Kersey in 45th in the 8K ... York freshman Ryan Aug grabbed 48th in the 8K to pace the Spartans.
