Christopher Newport sophomore David Rabil was selected as the CAC Golfer of the Week for the second time this year after capturing his first career victory at the Callaway Gardens Invitational on March 6-7. Rabil tied for top honors at the tournament with a one-over par 145 (75-70). He led the field with 10 birdies in the 36-hole event. Last weekend, Rabil placed 18th at the Jekyll Island Intercollegiate, finishing with a five-over 221 (74-69-78) including his teambest sixth round of par or lower this season. He also lowered his season stroke average to 72.3.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

The spring season has kicked off for four CAC men's golf squads ... Freshman Phillip Manceri led Mary Washington to a second-place finish in the first-ever UMW Eagle Invitational lastweekend, shooting a team-best +7 149 in the two day event. Manceri also helped UMW to a pair of first place team wins in Myrtle Beach over Spring Break, shooting a +3 75 in a one-day event at Long Bay Golf Club, and led UMW to a win in the two-day event at Myrtle Beach with a 75-75 aggregate of 150, and was medalist for the event ... Marymount freshman John David Coffin paced the Saints in their first tournament of the spring schedule, taking ninth place at the Inaugural UMW Eagle Invitational, hosted by UMW. For the weekend, he posted a total score of 162, including a first-round card of 78 ... New Jersey City will open its spring campaign on April 2 with a matchup against Yeshiva ... Penn State Harrisburg, Wesley, and York will compete at the McDaniel Spring Invitational this weekend.
