YORK, Pa. -- Christopher Newport sophomore Nicholas Baham and Salisbury senior Jeff Oster collected CAC Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week honors for Feb. 13, 2017.

Christopher Newport sophomore Nicholas Baham earned CAC Player of the Week accolades after leading the Captains offense at the Piedmont College Early Spring Classic by hitting .533 (8-for-15) with four extra-base hits including two home runs. Baham drove in six runs and scored five times. His most impressive game in three starts this weekend came against No. 6 Birmingham-Southern, in which he went 4-for-5 and fell just a double shy of the cycle while driving in four runs and scoring twice. He also led off with a single in the top of the 9th inning against Methodist to set up a four-run come-from-behind win for the Captains. He did not strike out in 15 at-bats and played a flawless first base, without an error in 30 total chances.

Salisbury senior Jeff Oster received CAC Pitcher of the Week honors after strking out five batters in a six-inning performance on the road at Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday. Oster earned the start and went six full innings, surrendering three runs and four walks on four hits.

In the Collegiate Baseball Division III Preseason Poll, Salisbury is ranked No. 30 while Frostburg State and Mary Washington are receiving votes ... Frostburg State opened with a 1-2 record in a tripleheader with Roanoke. Senior JT Tipton notched four hits, four runs scored, and a walk while batting .333 ... St. Mary's sophomore outfielder Lucas Kraft led the Seahawks with two runs, three hits, including a double, and two walks in a pair of losses to No. 10 Randolph-Macon ... Salisbury's Justin Meekins went 3-for-4 with two singles and a first-inning two-run home run in the Sea Gulls' 20-12 victory over Gwynedd Mercy. He notched four RBIs and scored three times ...
