York Second And Marymount Third At Achtzehn Women's Cross Country Classic

Marymount freshmen Melissa Teeple and Elizabeth Long finished second and sixth, respectively, while York's Jessica Miller placed fourth for the top individual performances among CAC runners at the 2013 Coach Achtzehn Women's Cross Country Classic.

Miller led York to second in the team standings with 81 points - 11 behind team champ Goucher - while Marymount was a close third with 94 points.  St. Mary's was a strong fifth with 102 points while Penn State Harrisburg was 11th with 318.   Southern Virginia also participated, but did not post a team score.

Facing off against elite competition from all levels, the Christopher Newport cross country teams looked strong on Saturday as the women placed second among non-Division I opponents, while the men finished third during the Commodore Classic at Percy Ward Park.

The Salisbury University men's and women's cross country teams traveled away from the Eastern Shore for the first time in the 2013 season and came away with a pair of third-place finishes. The Sea Gulls had a top-10 finisher in each race with sophomore Thomas Burke leading the men and junior Kira Polimeni pacing the women.

Freshmen Dieunise Desir and Shannon Moody both ran among Wesley's top ten fastest times to lead Wesley at the Delaware State Invitational on Saturday morning.
