Salisbury’s Eustace, Christopher Newport’s Hanes Claim C2C Women's Volleyball Weekly Awards

The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the 11th week of the 2025 women's volleyball season. Salisbury's Gwen Eustace claimed C2C Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Christopher Newport's Maddie Hanes was tabbed C2C Defensive Player of the Week.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Gwen Eustace, Salisbury

Salisbury senior Gwen Eustace went for a career-high 23 kills (4.60 K/S) at a .759 hitting percentage (1 error, 29 attempts) to help the Sea Gulls win their 12th straight match, 3-2 at Stockton, on Friday. Eustace, who leads the C2C in total kills (383), closes out the regular season as the most efficient attacker across all three NCAA divisions with a swing rate of .509. At the time of this nomination, nobody else in Division I, II, or III is hitting north of .500.


DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Maddie Hanes, Christopher Newport

Christopher Newport junior Maddie Hanes recorded 48 digs in three matches for the Captains this week, averaging 5.3 per set. The defensive specialist leads the team in digs with 359 this season including five straight double-figure performances dating back to October 29. She added six assists this week and four service aces as CNU held opponents to a .070 hitting percentage. Hanes leads the C2C in digs and digs per set in 2025.

C2C HIGHLIGHTS

Warren Wilson's KJ Helinsky recorded 24 kills in 45 attempts for a .422 hitting percentage along with 14 digs in loss to Averett… Junior right side Natalie Brown led Mary Washington to an undefeated week, scoring 24 kills and 18 digs in wins over Regent and Randolph. She posted 13 kills and nine digs on Tuesday against the Royals, and added another team-high with 11 kills to go with nine digs and two service aces in the win against Randolph on Saturday… Christopher Newport's Alyssa Dozier extended her double-digit kills streak to 12 with three more matches this weekend, averaging 4.0 kills per set in three wins for the Captains. She finished the week with 36 kills on an impressive .492 attack percentage and ranks second in the league this season with 3.47 kills per set and a .385 hitting percentage. She moved past Bailey Jensen for sixth all-time in career kills with 1,285 and became just the eighth player in program history with over 3,000 attempts. She added nine blocks, including six solo to notch a career-high 54 and pass Angie Cook for second all-time at CNU with 158… Salisbury's Sophia Tapia went for a career-high nine blocks (four solo), good for 1.80 B/S as part of the Sea Gulls' five-set victory at Stockton on Friday. The nine blocks tied her for fifth in SU single-match history. Tapia ranks second in the C2C and top-20 in Division III in total blocks (115)… Warren Wilson's Josie McCoy had two solo blocks and 13 digs in loss to Averett.
