Four members of the All-CAC volleyball first team - Salisbury's Carley Todd, Chelsea Glowacki, Ashlyn Tapley and York's Ashley Rineman - were named to the 2012 AVCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region team.

The three Sea Gulls were named to the 14-player first-team all-region squad while Rineman was one of six players named to a regional honorable mention team.

Additionally, veteran Salisbury mentor Margie Knight was named the regional Coach of the Year.  Knight has guided her team to the NCAA tournament for the eighth time in program history, entering play in the tournament tomorrow night with a 34-3 record. She was named the Capital Athletic Conference Coach of the Year on Wednesday and this marks the second time in her career that she's been named an AVCA Regional Coach of the Year, the last time coming in 2008.

Glowacki becomes the first player in the program history to be named to the All-Region team in each of her four years. She was honorable mention in 2009 and has been a first-team member for the past three seasons. Glowacki recently surpassed 1,000 kills in her career and took over the top spot in career blocks in program history with 450.

Todd was recently named the CAC's Player of the Year and follows that up with her third all-region selection. She was selected to the team last year and was an honorable mention selection in 2010. This season Todd, a setter, has been a threat anywhere on the court, as she has posted 1,108 assists to go with a .326 hitting percentage and 224 kills. Her 9.47 assists per set rank her just outside of the top 50 in the nation.

This is Tapley's first All-Region selection as she has stepped in and been an offensive standout for the Gulls in her first season. Tapley has recorded 343 kills this season, hitting .260. Her 3.01 kills per set are the best in the CAC.
