Mary Washington Women's Tennis Earns Top CAC Tournament Seed for 12th Straight Year; CAC Tournament Matchups Set
Mary Washington completed an unbeaten CAC women's tennis regular season for the 12th year in a row, claiming the No. 1 seed in the upcoming CAC Tournament. The five-team CAC Tournament field is now set following the final conference regular season matches on Saturday.
Top-seeded UMW (7-0 CAC), second-seeded Christopher Newport (6-1 CAC) and third-seeded Salisbury (5-2 CAC) each earned first-round byes in the tournament, while fourth-seeded York (4-3 CAC) will host fifth-seeded Southern Virginia (3-4 CAC) in the first-round matchup on Friday, Apr. 27.
The winner of the York/SVU match will travel to UMW on Tuesday, May 1 for the CAC semifinals, while CNU will host Salisbury in the other semifinal match.
The CAC Championship match is slated for Friday, May 4 at the home courts of the highest remaining seed.
