The Mary Washington doubles duo of Shelby Harris and Kait Brogan finished in second place in the championship doubles draw at the ITA Southeast Regional Tournament hosted by UMW this past weekend, highlighting the results from a number of CAC competitors at the annual regional championship.

Harris and Brogan, who entered the tournament as the top seed, dropped just seven games in their four matches (8-game pro sets) leading up the Monday's championship. In the semifinal round on Monday morning, Harris and Brogan faced off against unseeded Eagle teammates Caroline Mosberg and Sara Fioretti, and came away with an 8-3 victory.

In the final against Pavia and Sidell of Carnegie Mellon, Harris and Brogan fell in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. The Eagles' advancement to the finals in doubles was their first since 2009, and the two semifinalists was a first in head coach Patrick Catullo's 12 years at UMW.

In singles play, Harris made the deepest tournament run, advancing to the championship draw quarterfinals. Seeded third, Harris defeated opponents from Washington College, Johns Hopkins and Carnegie Mellon in straight sets before falling to Carnegie Mellon's Brooke Tsu 6-4, 6-1 in the quarters. Brogan and Salisbury's Natalie Savage won two matches each before bowing out in the round of 16.
