Salisbury and St. Mary's Women's Tennis Improve to 4-0 in CAC Play
The Salisbury and St. Mary's women's tennis teams improved to 4-0 in CAC play over the weekend, while Christopher Newport moved to 3-0 with a pair of conference wins.
Salisbury had a busy weekend on the court, earning a quartet of 9-0 victories over CAC opponents. The Sea Gulls (10-4, 4-0 CAC) opened the weekend with a 9-0 home victory over Southern Virginia on Friday, before traveling to Frostburg State for a 9-0 triumph on Saturday. On Sunday, SU blanked York and Penn State Harrisburg at home. York (3-8, 0-3 CAC) and Penn State Harrisburg (2-7, 0-3 CAC) are both still seeking their first conference wins of 2015.
Christopher Newport nabbed a pair of decisive home CAC wins on Saturday, defeating Penn State Harrisburg 9-0 and York 8-1, before falling to Division I George Mason 7-0 on Sunday. The Captains are now 10-3 overall and 3-0 in CAC play.
St. Mary's improved to 4-0 in the CAC with a 9-0 victory at home against Southern Virginia.
In non-conference play, No. 20 Mary Washington dropped a tight 5-4 decision to No. 14 DePauw in a nationally-ranked showdown on Saturday.
