Seven CAC Swimmers Selected for NCAA Championships
Seven CAC swimmers were selected to compete in the NCAA Division III Swimming Championships from March 16-19 in Greensboro, N.C. Six Mary Washington swimmers and York senior Kyle Walthall will represent the CAC at the national championships.
It's the third-highest total representation at the NCAA Division III Swiming Championship for the CAC in the last decade.
York's Walthall, the 2016 Men's Athlete of the Year, returns to NCAA's for the third straight year in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. Walthall is a four-time All-American in those events at the national meet.
Mary Washington will be represented on the men's side by junior Dallas Tarkenton, while junior Anna Corley will compete individually on the women's side. Seniors Katie Fago, Hannah Hagy and Stephanie Hallock, along with junior Shannon Coryell will compete in relay events.
Tarkenton will represent the Eagles in the 100 yard butterfly, in which he is seeded eighth in the country, as well as the 200 individual medley and the 200 yard butterfly.
Corley qualified in the 200 individual medley, in which she is seeded 10th, as well as the 100 breaststroke and the 200 backstroke, as well as on relays.
The 200 freestyle relay of Fago, Coryell, Hagy, and Hallock has qualified, and the Eagles will swim all relays. Fago and Coryell will swim all relays, while Hagy will swim all relays and the 100 yard butterfly. Hallock will compete in all relays, as well as the 50 and 100 yard freestyle.
