Mary Washington Sweeps Top Finishes, Secures Lead After Day One of CAC Women's Swimming Championships
Mary Washington swept the top finishes in each of Friday's five events to capture the lead at CAC Women's Swimming Championships following session one. St. Mary's sits in second with 155 points, followed by Marymount (131), York (118), Salisbury (89), and Frostburg State (64).
UMW opened the night with a victory in the 200 freestyle relay (1:36.92) with the team of Elizabeth Lewan, Katie Fago, Tara Banks and Stephanie Hallock.
In the individual events, Mary Washington senior Jessica Singer secured top honors in the 500 freestyle (5:05.40), while sophomore Abby Cox nabbed first in the 200 IM at 2:09.06 and Hallock claimed the 50 freestyle with a mark of 24.23.
The Eagles then wrapped up the night with the team of Fago, Amber Kerico, Hannah Hagy and Hallock claiming gold in the 400 medley relay at 3:54.69.
Day two of the CAC Championships begins on Saturday morning with the trials at 10 a.m., followed by the finals at 6 p.m.
