Two CAC Swimmers And Four Teams Recognized By CSCAA Division III Scholar All-America Women's Swimming Teams
The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released its 2012-13 list of Division III Scholar All-America Women's Swimming Teams, and two Capital Athletic Conference swimmers and four teams were recognized by the national organization.
Individual honors went to St. Mary's senior Kelly Heyde and Mary Washington's Hannah Hagy. Team recognition was presented to Mary Washington (3.11 GPA), St. Mary's (3.18 GPA), Salisbury (3.19 GPA) and York (3.12 GPA). The CSCAA honored 136 teams in 2012-13, and it was the 15th-straight year SMC was honored.
The Scholar All-America Team Award is presented to college and university swimming teams, who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented twice annually, once in the fall semester and in the semester of the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships (Winter/Spring).
The Honorable Mention Scholar All-America Award is presented to college and university swimmers, who have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, for the semester or as a cumulative average, and have achieved a "B" time standard, but did not qualify to compete in their respective national championship. The award is presented in the semester of the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships (Winter/Spring).
