York Drops NCAA Second Round Matchup to Johns Hopkins in 2OT
CAC champion York went toe-to-toe with sixth-ranked Johns Hopkins in the NCAA Women's Soccer Second Round in Sunday, but fell 1-0 in double overtime in Baltimore, Md., ending its season at 13-5-3.
After over 105 minutes of scoreless action, Hannah Kronick buried the game-winner for the Blue Jays in the 106th minute. York goalkeeper Melanie Glessner totaled eight saves in the loss.
Hopkins (20-1-1) outshot the Spartans 19-14 throughout the contest. The Blue Jays will face off against Williams in the round of 16.
