2021 C2C Women's Soccer Awards, All-League Teams Unveiled

The 2021 Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Women's Soccer awards have been announced. The following are this year's honorees, as voted on by the league's head coaches:

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Riley Cook - Christopher Newport
Riley Cook continued to add to her illustrious career in her final season by adding to her conference records for goals and points scored in a career. Heading into the postseason, Cook is the active leader in all of NCAA women's soccer in goals scored, with 83, and ranks second in career points, with 183. She's also the first former ROY to win POY twice in her tenure after also being named Offensive Player of the Year in 2019. This season, Cook was a four-time Conference Offensive Player of the Week and led the league in points, goals, shots, and shots on-goal.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Allison Nork - Mary Washington
Mary Washington senior Allison Nork was named as the C2C Defensive Player of the Year after recording 75 saves in 14 games, with a 1.16 goals-against average and a .815 save percentage.  She was named as the league's Defensive Player of the Week three times this season, including this past week, after registering a career-high 14 saves in a 1-1 tie at CNU.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: Payton Cichowski - UC Santa Cruz
On a team full of incredible freshmen that have contributed right away, Payton Cichowski has been a wonderful offensive spark. Hailing from the San Fernando Valley, Cichowski is a pacy forward with a deft touch on the ball who brought amazing energy to the Banana Slug attack, scoring a team-high eight goals on just 12 shots on goal.

SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR: Tayah Rendina - Salisbury
Tayah Rendina is a senior mathematics major on the secondary education track at Salisbury that carries a 3.95 grade-point average. The Gambrills, Md. native has been on the Dean's List each semester she's been enrolled at SU and a three-time academic all-conference honoree. Rendina has also been a part of the Noyce Scholarship Program, which aims to serve the national need of preparing high-quality mathematics and science teachers. She has received the President's Diversity Champion Award, which is given to members of the campus community who make extraordinary contributions to promote the appreciation and understanding of cultural diversity, and advance institutional diversity and inclusion goals. On the field, Rendina has been a key part of the Sea Gull defense this season with 12 appearances with a goal on two shots.

COACHING STAFF OF THE YEAR: UC Santa Cruz - Lauren Nadler
Having to navigate a schedule that included two ranked division III teams and several division II teams, Coach Nadler and assistant Cayla Neipris melded an experienced core of returners with several new freshmen and sophomores into a unit that has improved with each contest. The resulting squad has been flexible while playing intelligent, great soccer and leaving their all on the field every game.
