The National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) recognized Christopher Newport women's soccer senior Victoria Perry on Thursday night as a second team All-American. 

The All-American designation is the culminating moment of one of the finest careers in program history. After earning first team All-Region honors earlier this week, Perry became just the second player to earn All-Region laurels at least three times in her career. Her personal trophy case is also riddled with All-Conference recognition, as Perry is a three-time first team selection as well as a four-time CAC Player of the Week pick. An exceptional student, Perry's accolades are not limited to the on-field variety, as she is the first women's soccer player to twice be named CoSIDA Academic All-District, and she has been named to the conference All-Academic team following each of her first three years at Christopher Newport.
 

Perry was the focal point of a CNU offense that averaged 2.71 goals per game this season and scored the sixth most points in CNU lore. She scored 10 goals and added a league-leading and career-high 12 assists during the 2016 season. She ranked in the top 20 nationally in total assists and was one of only 26 active players to record 30 goals and 20 assists during her career. 

The Purcellville, Va. native became the programs' all-time leading scorer, with 109 points, while also setting an impressive standard for career assists, with 31. Finishing the season ranked second in the CAC with 32 total points, she is the only player in program history to register three 30-point seasons and is just the second to eclipse 100 points during her tenure. Perry's career records also include 16 game-winning goals, which includes a key goal this season in the NCAA Tournament, powering CNU into the NCAA Tournament 2nd Round for the first time since 2004 and only the second time ever.

A consistent threat atop the Captains attack all four years, Perry started in each of her 78 games played, ranking fourth all-time at CNU. She finished her career the all-time leader in shots on-goal and second in total attempts.

The CNU senior was integral in Christopher Newport's success this season, as the Captains set a program record for wins in a season, with 17, while also posting the best winning percentage all-time at .833 (17-3-1). CNU captured the program's first CAC conference championship and returned to the NCAA Tournament for the ninth time. 

The NSCAA recognized 92 total players, men and women, with a first-, second-, and third-team designation. Those selected, along with their families and coaches, will be formally acknowledged for their accomplishments at the NSCAA All-America Luncheon on January 14, 2017 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in conjunction with the 2017 NSCAA Convention.
