Stevenson's Women's Soccer Scoring Standout Stephanie Eyler Named Capital One Academic All-American

(Thurmont/Catoctin) was selected to the Capital One Academic
All-America Third Team presented by the College Sports
Information
Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Tuesday, becoming the school's
first Academic All-American in its 17-year history.
Eyler is the 56th student-athlete in CAC history to be named to the Academic All-America team, and the fourth women's soccer player in conference history to gain the honor, joining St. Mary's defender Kathy Holmes (2001, 3rd team), Mary Washington defender Rebecca Vacarro (2001, 3rd team) and Salisbury forward Kate Weaver (2007, 1st team).

An All-District First Team selection in District 2 this season,
Eyler boasts a 3.97 grade point average in business administration.
She led the team in scoring this season with 13 goals and 30 points
and finished her career with a school record 63 goals while ranking
second with 141 points. She also appeared in a record 85 career
games with 15 game-winning goals.
Eyler was a four-time All-CAC First Team selection and was named
the 2009 CAC Player of the Year and 2008 CAC Rookie of the Year.
She was selected to the NSCAA Scholar All-East Region Third Team in
2010 and named to the NSCAA All-South Atlantic Region Second Team
in 2009.
The nation's premier Academic All-America® program, CoSIDA
began the program in the 1950's and currently honors Academic
All-Americans in 12 sports. To be nominated, a student-athlete must
be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative
grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current
institution.
