St. Mary's Sophomore Tori Eskay Leads Five CAC Players Onto 2010 NSCAA South Atlantic All-Region Team
St. Mary's sophomore midfielder Tori Eskay gained second-team recognition and was one of five CAC women's soccer players named to the 2010 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) South Atlantic All-Region team.
Eskay nearly doubled her scoring output from the 2009 season, registering team-highs of 13 goals, three assists and 29 points in 2010, following a six-goal, three-assist effort as a rookie. She finished third in the CAC in goals and fourth in points while tying for eighth in assists.
CAC championship match participants Stevenson and Frostburg State each placed two players on the third team South-Atlantic All-Region squad.
Stevenson, which topped FSU in overtime for the 2010 crown after falling in the 2009 title match shootout against Mary Washington, earned all-region bids by senior midfielder Allison Humphries and sophomore defender Taylor Zimmerman. Humphries was picked by the CAC coaches as the 2010 conference Player of the Year.
Frostburg State, a first-year member of the conference, placed senior defender Heather Fleishell and sophomore forward Amanda Wharton on the All-Region squad. Wharton broke the conference record for most goals in a season with 27.
All five CAC players named to the All-Region team were previously selected as first-team conference all-stars.
