19 from CAC Named IWLCA All-Region

IWLCA All-Region Teams 

Nineteen CAC women's lacrosse players received All-Region recognition from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), announced Friday. Thirteen received first-team honors, while seven landed on the second team.

Mary Washington led the way with five on the Chesapeake Region squad, including three on the first team. Junior defender Maiah Bartlett, sophomore defender Kirsten Littlefield, and freshman attacker Mackenzie Maguire earned first team honors. Junior midfielder Emily Mott and sophomore attacker Holly Hudson received second team accolades. 

Salisbury placed four players on the Chesapeake Region first team. Senior attacker Megan Wallenhorst, junior midfielder Gabbi Nieves, junior defender Kayla Miller, and sophomore Gianna Falcone were each named to the first team. 

St. Mary's earned four all-region nods on the Cheseapeake Region squad, headlined by senior midfielder Tori Poffenberger and senior attacker Shelby Newman on the first team. Second teamers for the Seahawks included senior defender Kate Somerville and junior defender Mackenzie Rayburn

Christopher Newport landed three on the Chesapeake Region team, with junior attacker Meaghan Galvin and sophomore midfielder Catie Chess on the first team, and freshman goalkeeper Emma Walsh on the second team. 

York received three selections on the Metro All-Region squad. Senior defender Megan Strauch and senior attacker Allison Kolacy were named to the first team, while sophomore midfielder Melissa Meehling claimed second team honors.
