IWLCA North-South Rosters

Four CAC women's lacrosse players have been selected to play in the 2015 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) North-South All-Star Game. The CAC will be represented on the South squad by Salisbury's Kate Haker and Hayden Hutzell, York's Karlie Dougherty and St. Mary's Christy Bishop

The game will be played at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 6 at Cabrini in Radnor, Pa.The Division I and Division II games will be played earlier in the day at the same location.

Dougherty, the Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year, became the first player in the 10-year history of the York women's lacrosse program to earn IWLCA first team All-American honors. She is the fourth Spartan in the last three years to earn an IWLCA Senior All-Star game invitation. Kim Wayson and Katie Vautier earned a trip to the game in 2013 and Erica Mulford earned the honor last spring. Dougherty and the Spartans finished the year with a school-record tying 15 wins and advanced to the NCAA Elite 8 for the first time in program history.

Haker, an attacker for CAC Champion Salisbury, put together an astounding career the past four seasons. Finishing with 174 points totaled off of 105 goals and 69 assists, the Westminster, Maryland native was a crucial piece to the offensive puzzle during her time donning the maroon and gold. In 2015, she found the back of the cage 29 times and sent out 13 helpers, third best on the squad in both categories.

Hutzell, a defender for Salisbury, was a key piece in an unbreakable wall the past four years. Moving fully to defense from the midfield her senior season, she helped solidify a backline that lost several members following the 2014 season. Becoming even stronger this season, the Sea Gull defense finished second in the nation in scoring defense, only allowing 5.72 goals per game. Hutzell being a crucial part of that, caused 12 turnovers this season, while scooping 21 ground balls and winning 11 draw controls.

Bishop concluded her four-year lacrosse career as a first-time IWLCA All-Chesapeake Region selection as she earned a spot on the second team this season. Bishop also collected a pair of second team All-Capital Athletic Conference honors during her last two seasons with the Seahawks. Bishop was third on the team in goals with 31 and fourth with 35 points while adding 16 ground balls, eight draw controls, and five caused turnovers. She finished her career with 96 goals and nine assists for 105 career points while adding 40 ground balls, 16 draw controls, and 14 caused turnovers in 46 games as a full-time starter her last two seasons. St. Mary's posted a 13-5 overall record in 2015 and earned the third seed in this year's CAC Tournament, making its 16th trip to the CAC Tournament semifinals.
