Salisbury Junior Women's Lacrosse Player Megan Wallenhorst Honored as Academic All-American

Complete Academic All-America At-Large Team 

Salisbury women's lacrosse junior Megan Wallenhorst has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America At-Large Team, announced Tuesday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). 

Wallenhorst was one of 45 student-athletes named to the At-Large Team, and was honored as a second team selection. The At-Large team consists of student-athletes nominated from field hockey, swimming, tennis, lacrosse, and golf. She is the 25th Academic All-American in Salisbury history. 

Wallenhorst, who earned an IWLCA All-Region accolades this past spring, is working towards a degree in accounting, while maintaining a perfect 4.0 grade-point average. To be eligible for nomination, a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.30 grade-point average and be a starter or key reserve on her team. 

The junior put together a career year on the field, leading the squad in goals this season with 34, while finishing second in assists with 19, she totaled a career-high 53 points in her second season with the Sea Gulls. 

To add to her accolades for the year, she was honored as an All-CAC first team pick.
