Salisbury Women's Basketball Rallies Past Bridgewater State in NCAA First Round

The Salisbury women's basketball team put together yet another strong second-half performance en route to a 66-63 victory over visiting Bridgewater State in NCAA First Round action on Friday night at Maggs Physical Activities Center.

The 11th-ranked Sea Gulls (26-2) advance to Saturday' second round with the win and will meet Stockton (22-6), 68-49 winners over McDaniel in Friday's other first round game. The two sides will tip off at 6 p.m. 

Facing a 35-23 deficit at the half, Salisbury stormed back in the second frame, outscoring Bridgewater State 43-28 after halftime to secure the first NCAA win for the program since 2002. 

Anna Hackett led the Sea Gulls with 21 points and eight assists, with Sarah Seipp adding 18 points and four steals. Lauren Rothfeld also reached double figures with 10 points, four rebounds and four steals, while Julia McLaughlin pulled down 11 boards to go with eight points and three blocks. 

Megan Boutilette recorded a game-high 26 points and 11 rebounds for Bridgewater State in the loss.
