CNU's Nuckols, UCSC's Kim Receive C2C Women's Track Weekly Honors
The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the 11th week of the 2025-26 track and field season. Christopher Newport's Ellie Nuckols was named C2C Women's Track Athlete of the Week, while UC Santa Cruz's Nia Kim took home C2C Women's Field Athlete of the Week honors.
WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Ellie Nuckols, Christopher Newport
Christopher Newport junior Ellie Nuckols set a new PR and moved to 11th on the national charts in the 400-hurdles on Saturday at the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic. During the event, she finished in 1:02.44, which marked the fastest time in the league this year by over four seconds. It also was the fifth-fastest clocking in school history. Additionally, she threw down a time of 14.90 in the 100-hurdles, which was the best effort by a Captain in three years.
WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Nia Kim, UC Santa Cruz
UC Santa Cruz freshman Nia Kim made her first outdoor appearance for the Banana Slugs in the Heptathlon, placing first in multiple events at the Bryan Clay Multi Event. Nia Kim ran 14.37 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles to get things started with 927 points before clearing 1.62m in high jump and throwing 9.20m in shot put. Kim closed out day one with a 26.19 in the 200, ending day one with 2,944 points. On day two, Kim opened the day with a 5.74m long jump before throwing 23.33m in javelin. Kim closed out the meet with a 2:24.00 in the 800m finishing in fifth place with 4,836 points. Kim's outdoor debut featured many impressive national marks including the 12th fastest hurdle time, the 10th best long jump, and the sixth best heptathlon this year.

C2C HIGHLIGHTS
Mary Washington sophomore Yasmin Deane turned in two stellar performances at the Duke University Invite this weekend, finishing 25th and nearly clipping her own school record in the 100 meters at 11.96, and then running as part of a school record breaking effort in the 4x100 meter relay with Sophia Redmond, Jolene Adu, and Anijah James, with a time of 47.53… UC Santa Cruz's Camille Anneet placed 14th in the 100m with a strong 12.62 time and later took 11th in the 200m following a 26.38 performance at the Chico Invitational… Christopher Newport's Ashley Eley climbed to 30th on the NCAA charts in the triple jump with her performance on Saturday at the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic. In the event, she posted a distance of 11.38 meters, which established a new outdoor PR by five inches.
