Frostburg State Senior Renay Aubel, Salisbury Senior Kim Dorsey and Salisbury Senior Annah Brittingham Tabbed as CAC Softball Players of the Week
YORK, Pa. -- Frostburg State senior Renay Aubel, Salisbury seniors Kim Dorsey and Annah Brittingham were honored as the CAC Softball Players of the Week for Apri 4, 2016.

Frostburg State senior Renay Aubel was chosen as the CAC Co-Player of the Week after hitting .833 with eight RBIs in a CAC sweep of Wesley on Saturday. Aubel registered a triple and a home run with three runs scored throughout the doubleheader, driving in four runs in each game.

Salisbury senior Kim Dorsey was honored as the CAC Co-Player of the Week after bashing six extra-base hits while going 9-for-13 at the plate in a pair of doubleheader sweeps for the Sea Gulls. Dorsey his .692 on the week with four home runs and two doubles while driving in 13 runs and scoring 11 times. With the home runs, she has now hit 31 in her career, which moved her into third on Salisbury's all-time list. She recorded a .765 on-base percentage and 1.769 slugging percentage for the week.

Salisbury senior Annah Brittingham claimed CAC Pitcher of the Week for the second time this year after tossing a perfect game against Southern Virginia on Saturday. Brittingham struck out four and retired the other 11 batters on groundouts in her five innings of work, not allowing a single ball to reach the outfield. It was Brittingham's first career perfect game, and the 13th in program history. In her other start, she earned a complete-game shutout at Stevenson, giving up just three hits, two walks, and a hit batter while striking out six.

CAC play is now in full swing with all eight CAC teams having played at least four conference contests ... Frostburg State is in first place at 4-0, followed by Christopher Newport (5-1) and Salisbury (3-1) ... In the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) March 30 rankings, Christopher Newport is No. 4 and Salisbury is No. 9 ... CNU posted a 6-2 week. Rachael Payne went 11-for-28 at the plate, including a game-winning single in the top of the seventh in the Captains' 5-4 triumph over York. Tara Heatwole went 3-1 on the mound, including a one-hit, five-inning shutout over Penn State Harrisburg ... Frostburg State sophomore Allison Short picked up a win and a save last week in a sweep of Wesley ... Freshman Kara Deppe turned in a standout week in the circle for Mary Washington, winning two of three starts, including a pair of CAC contests. She threw a two-hit shutout at Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday with four strikeouts, and capped the week by downing York, 3-2, allowing two hits in eight innings with one earned run allowed. For the week, she posted a 1.11 ERA with 16 strikeouts and four walks in 19 innings ... Southern Virginia's Sarah Edwards posted a five-RBI week, moving her into second on team with 10 RBIs this season ... Wesley's Kayla Fromal went 6-for-9 from the plate in four games, finishing with a double, a home run, three RBIs, and three runs scored. Fromal earned an OBP of .786 and slugged at a 1.111 clip for the week.
