UC Santa Cruz’s Holland, Seymour Capture C2C Cross Country Weekly Honors
The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the fifth week of the 2025 cross country season. UC Santa Cruz's Luke Holland claimed C2C Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors, while the Banana Slugs Kenzie Seymour was tabbed C2C Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.
MEN'S RUNNER OF THE WEEK: Luke Holland, UC Santa Cruz
UC Santa Cruz senior Luke Holland was the top performer for the Banana Slugs with a 16th place finish at the UC Riverside Invitational. He crossed the line in 24:10.3, after starting the race near the lead pack and moving up from 29th to 16th by the end of the 8K race. He posted a time of 28:05.3, knocking over a minute off his previous PB… Salisbury's Tristan Dutton smashed his personal record en route to a third-place finish to help the Sea Gulls win the Don Cathcart Invitational on Saturday. During the competition, he placed second overall - and first among Division III competitors - with a time of 24:53.30 in the 8k. With that performance, he became just the ninth Captain in program history to break the 25-minute barrier, while his overall time was the eighth-fastest in school lore and the finest clocking since 2022… Sophomore Nicholas Smerlis led Mary Washington's men to a second-place finish at the James Madison University Invitational on Friday, as he finished fourth overall at 27:47 on the 8K course… Salisbury's Anna Bodmer broke the tape and her own personal record to win the Don Cathcart Invitational on Saturday. Battling soggy conditions, Bodmer posted a time of 21:39.9, shaving nearly eight seconds off her previous top time… Sarah Dake paced Christopher Newport and established a new PR during the Don Cathcart Invitational on Saturday at WinterPlace Park. During the 6k, she completed the course in 21:59.10. That placed her third in the race and moved her to 11th on the school's all-time 6k performance list… Sophomore Lily Hoffman led Mary Washington's women to a fourth-place finish at the James Madison University Invite.
