His time placed him second among Division III competitors and 74th overall in a field comprised of nationally-ranked programs from Division I, II, and III. It also shaved four seconds off of his own previous 8k record of 24:43, which he established last year at the same meet. Guided by Reid's work, the 13th-ranked Captains placed third among Division III programs in the final team standings, beating out the likes of No. 3 Johns Hopkins, No. 15 Williams, No. 17 Middlebury, and No. 24 TCNJ in the decorated field.
