UMW’s Willenborg, CNU’s Chang Claim C2C Tennis Player of the Week Honors
The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the fifth week of the 2026 spring tennis season. Mary Washington's Asher Willenborg captured C2C Men's Tennis Player of the Week honors, while Christopher Newport's Kendal Chang was tabbed C2C Women's Tennis Player of the Week.
MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Asher Willenborg, Mary Washington
Mary Washington junior Asher Willenborg led the #20 Eagles to a 6-1 win at #33 Washington and Lee University on Saturday, posting a 6-2 win with Trevor Rein at one doubles over Henry Imorde and Heys Parker. He then scored a win at one singles over Parker, 6-3, 7-5.
WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Kendal Chang, Christopher Newport
Christopher Newport sophomore Kendal Chang won both of her matches at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles in the Captains 4-3 victory over Grinnell this week. She paired with Kylie Schaefer for a 6-1 win against Paige Sargent and Isa Voinescu. Then, in singles, she cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win against Pari Chavan at No. 1.

WOMEN: Lucy Yung, UC Santa Cruz; Isabella Rotaru, Mary Washington
C2C HIGHLIGHTS
UC Santa Cruz's Lucy Yung went 3-1 on the weekend, going 2-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles. Notably, Yung defeated No. 25 ranked (fall rankings) Anika Paul in a thrilling match at No. 2 in a Sunday match against No. 3 Chicago… Freshman Isabella Rotaru scored a pair of wins in #34 Mary Washington's 5-2 loss at #17 Washington and Lee on Saturday. Rotaru and Sarah Sandoval Banuelos scored a 7-5 win at two doubles, helping the Eagles secure the doubles point, before winning over Sarah Donnelly at two singles, 6-4, 6-4.
