UMW’s Gipner, Felts Earn C2C Tennis Player of the Week Accolades
The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the fourth week of the 2026 spring tennis season. Mary Washington's Ryan Gipner took home C2C Men's Tennis Player of the Week merit, while the Eagles Addison Felts claimed C2C Women's Tennis Player of the Week honors.
MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Ryan Gipner, Mary Washington
Mary Washington freshman Ryan Gipner aided the #20 Eagles to a 5-1 week at the USTA national campus, scoring four singles wins without defeat, and winning two of three doubles matches. Gipner defeated Connor Liona of Sacred Heart, 3-6, 6-1, 10-8; Brendan Hendrata of #17 Carnegie Mellon, 6-3, 7-6; Roberto Esquievel of Cedarville, 6-1, 6-1; and Debarshi Sen of RPI, 6-0, 6-1. In doubles, he and Jack Riordan scored wins against Carnegie Mellon and RPI.
WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Addison Felts, Mary Washington
Mary Washington junior Addison Felts helped #34 Mary Washington to a perfect 4-0 record last week at the USTA national campus in Orlando, scoring a perfect 3-0 mark in No. 1 singles and 3-0 mark in top doubles. She gained wins over Gabrielle Bassette of #28 Allegheny (6-2, 6-0), Maddie Kavenaugh of John Carroll (8-0), and Nicole Ridenour of RPI (6-3, 6-1). In doubles, Felts and Natalie Kim downed #1 duos from Allegheny, Sioux Falls, and John Carroll.

C2C HIGHLIGHTS
Salisbury's Bobby Stabile was king of the tiebreaker over a long weekend, going 3-0 in fourth singles by virtue of a tiebreaker all three times and posting a 2-1 mark in second doubles. Stabile bounced his Methodist foe 2-6, 6-2, 7-6 (9-7) on Friday, then on Saturday he provided the team clinch over Averett at 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7-1). On Sunday against Gettysburg he won a pro-set by virtue of another tiebreaker, 8-7 (7-4). Stabile and Nicholas O'Dea also won second doubles against Methodist 7-6 (7-2) and Gettysburg 6-1… Christopher Newport's Nesh Kumaresan helped the Captains capture a pair of wins including one against nationally-ranked RPI Ii three matches during a Spring Break trip to Florida. Playing at No. 3 singles against Allegheny and No. 22 RPI, Kumaresan won a pair of hard-fought victories. Against David Rodriguez (Allegheny), he outlasted his opponent 7-5, 7-6 (9-7) and versus Gustave Viennet (RPI), he captured a 6-3, 7-6 win. In doubles, he played with Gabe Smith for a 6-2 win against Allegheny and a 6-4 win versus RPI on the No. 2 line. In the final match of the week against No. 17 Carnegie Mellon, he and Smith were tied 4-4 when their doubles match was abandoned and he moved up to No. 2 singles and suffered a 6-1, 6-4 loss to Diogo Tinoco… UC Santa Cruz's Benjamin Wang earned a thrilling singles victory over No. 21 Sewanee, earning a 5-7, 6-1, 1-0 (10-8) win to highlight the Banana Slugs' match… Salisbury's Cleo Solomon went 4-for-4 as part of the Sea Gulls' team victories over Methodist and Gettysburg for the weekend. On Friday against Methodist, she and Gibelle Beaujon rolled through first doubles 6-2, while Solomon cleaned up in second singles, 6-1, 6-3. On Sunday against Gettysburg, Solomon and Beaujon triumphed 6-3 in first doubles, and Solomon wrapped up a quick 6-1, 6-0 dub in second singles… UC Santa Cruz's Chloe Khachadourian went 1-1 in singles and 1-1 in doubles on the weekend, earning a a 6-4, 6-2 singles win and a 6-4 win in doubles, both over Occidental.
