UMW’s Riordan, SU’s Whiteside Named C2C Tennis Players of the Week
The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the second week of the 2026 spring tennis season. Mary Washington's Jack Riordan picked up C2C Men's Tennis Player of the Week merit, while Salisbury's Evelyn Whiteside was tabbed C2C Women's Tennis Player of the Week.
MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jack Riordan, Mary Washington
Mary Washington junior Jack Riordan helped #23 Mary Washington to extend its season-opening win streak to five, with three victories over the weekend. For his part, Riordan finished 4-1. On Saturday, Riordan gained a win at one singles over Tichi Chialva of Washington College, 6-4, 6-2, in the Eagles' 5-2 victory. Then, he gained a crucial three-set win at three singles (3-6, 6-4, 7-6) as well as a victory at three doubles as the Eagles upended #22 Sewanee, 4-3. He closed out his week with a 6-0 win in three doubles in a 6-1 win over Virginia Wesleyan.
WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Evelyn Whiteside, Salisbury
Salisbury senior Evelyn Whiteside made fourth singles her own with a 6-3, 6-3 straight-sets triumph over Catholic's Meaghan Laniewski, giving SU the all-important fourth point to clinch the team win over the Cardinals on Sunday.

MEN: Nesh Kumaresan, Christopher Newport
WOMEN: Kendal Chang, Christopher Newport
C2C HIGHLIGHTS
Christopher Newport's Nesh Kumaresan won all three of his doubles matches this week with playing partner Gabe Smith at No. 2 doubles. He also went 1-1 in singles action while playing No. 3 for CNU. In doubles, the CNU tandem won 6-2 against Shenandoah, 6-0 versus No. 25 Haverford, and 6-3 against No. 22 Sewanee. The win against Sewanee was the lone victory of the day for CNU. He also earned a singles win against Haverford's Robbie Vazquez (6-1, 5-7, 6-3) to help the Captains clinch a top-25 win… Christopher Newport's Kendal Chang won her match at No. 2 doubles against No. 18 Case Western Reserve with partner Samantha Robertson in a tiebreaker 7-6 (9-7). She also secured a win in the match versus No. 22 Swarthmore at No. 1 singles against Erin Li 7-6 (7-2), 6-3.
