The 14th-ranked Mary Washington men's tennis team and the 19th-ranked Mary Washington women were selected as hosts of the first three round of the NCAA Tournament this weekend at the Ed Hegmann Tennis Complex at the Battleground. 

Men's action will begin on Thursday, with UMW receiving a first-round bye. The two first round matches feature TCNJ (11-3) against Gwynedd Mercy (11-1), and Grove City (7-6) against Wilkes (19-2).

The winner of the TCNJ/Gwynedd Mercy match will face Mary Washington on Friday, and the winner of Grove City/Wilkes will face Trinity University (Tx.). The winners will square off on Saturday for the right to advance to the national quarterfinals.

On the women's side, Mary Washington (16-7) will open up against Gwynedd Mercy (12-4) on Friday, with other matches including North Carolina Wesleyan (14-2) vs. Alvernia and MIT (15-5) vs. Franciscan (12-1). 

On Saturday, Washington & Lee University (23-4) will face the winner of the NC Wesleyan/Alvernia match, while the MIT/Franciscan will face the winner of UMW/Gwynedd Mercy. Second round winners will square off on Sunday with the winner advancing to the national quarterfinals.
