Mary Washington, Marymount and York Claim CAC Men's Swimming Weekend Victories

Mary Washington, Marymount and York men's swimming teams posted CAC victories over the weekend in a busy slate of action around the conference. 

In non-conference action, York went 2-1 with triumphs over Gallaudet and Penn State Altoona and a loss to Randolph-Macon, while St. Mary's dropped its dual with Johns Hopkins. 

In St. Mary's City, Md., Mary Washington defeated St. Mary's, 140-64, on Saturday. The Eagles improve to 6-2 on the season and remain unbeaten in conference action at 3-0, while the Seahawks drop to 5-8, 2-2 CAC. Alex Anderson won the 400 IM at 4:03.85 and was also a part of the winning 200 medley and 200 free relay teams. Zach Eisig captured individual wins in the 50 free at 22.50 and 500 free at 4:53.37. 

For St. Mary's, sophomore Matt Walchuck captured a pair of freestyle events as he won the 100 and 200 distances to lead the Seahawks efforts. 

York opened 2015 with a pair of wins on Friday - a 140-48 triumph over Gallaudet and a 120-49 win over Penn State Mont Alto. The Spartans followed that up with a tri-meet split at Frostburg State, defeating the host Bobcats 80-15 and falling 59-36 to Randolph-Macon. 

In Arlington, Va., Marymount topped Salisbury 117-88 in the closest CAC meet of the weekend. Ross Wiley led the way for the Saints with triumphs in the 200 IM (2:06.00) and the 200 backstroke (1:59.00) William Gough led the Sea Gulls with individual wins in the 50 freestyle (22.09) and the 100 freestyle (49.62).
