Anderson took top honors in the 400 IM (4:29.64) and was on a pair of victorious relay teams in UMW's win Friday at Marymount.  Saturday, at home against St. Mary's, Anderson captured gold in the 100 freestyle (49.66) and was a member of the 400 freestyle relay team (3:21.34).</description>

      <description>Mary Washington sophomore STEPHEN CLENDENIN (Ashburn, Va./Home Schooled) was named the CAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week after registering three NCAA "B" cuts along with three school and conference records at the University of Maryland Terrapin Invitational, competing against primarily NCAA Division I competition.  In the qualifying races, Clendenin, the 2008 CAC Rookie of the Year, broke school and CAC records, and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships, in the 200 IM (1:54.48) and the 400 IM (4:05.93), and followed with a national qualifying standard in the 200 butterfly (1:53.48).  He also anchored the Eagles to a UMW and CAC record-breaking performance in the 800 freestyle relay (6:59.93).</description>

The annual event raises funds in support of research at the University of Chicago to help with treatment of sarcoma in young people.</description>
